His Other Job Is Governor of Arkansas

Governor Mike Huckabee took a break from the Republican National Convention Wednesday night to do something he loves almost as much as politics. He took to the stage at a party for GOP governors but not in an official sense. He is the bass player for the capital Offense, a rock band, the entertainment for the night's event.

"It's probably the best party I've been to so far," said Arkansas delegate Sarah Barnett, who danced with her grandfather Ray Barnett, who is an alternate. Both are from Siloam Springs.

Reta Hamilton, a delegate from Bella Vista, clapped along and stomped her foot in tune to the music while sitting in the shade.

"They're so professional," Hamilton said.

New York Gov. George Pataki joined the band on stage during the first set. "Governor Huckabee is a jack of all trades," he said. "Mike, I don't know if you hire out, but I want to bring you back to New York and we'll pay you next time."

The set included Elvis's "Jailhouse Rock".
